Just a reminder, since this has spurred some debate in the past few days because a member posted a political topic and people were upset with its outcome...
We do not allow general political discussion here anywhere within the community. Threads about political issues, candidates, etc. will simply be removed from now on. We've tried to give people some leeway with this in the past, but it always seems to end in the same way -- with members being hurt and angry for any action we take or do not take in such threads. Politics includes calling for boycotts or petitions. We will continue to allow limited, off-hand political discussion as it occurs naturally in a non-political thread. But this is not the place to hold your in-depth, back and forth political discussions with other members (and never has been). We are first and foremost a self-help support community for mental health and related issues. There are a vast range and variety of political discussion forums online that I encourage you to make yourself a member of if you feel like you must absolutely discuss your political views. Thank you, DocJohn

Thanks for the reminder.
My apologies for posting how people can have hope of change; did not realize that that is now a political topic.

Yeah, I guess it must be hard to make moderating decisions. Some people are likely to be unhappy with whatever decision is made.
I don't think the verdict is that one can't post messages of hope for change, Sky. I guess it is just that ones views on precisely what change is required can be controversial (indeed political). |

Thanks DocJohn, I support your decision, as best for the community at large.
