son is doing his last exam today , he will then have nothing to do until he starts collage in the September,

leaving a blank hole of time to fill being adhd he needs routine and structure or he becomes moody and unmanageable,

he only 16 wont be 17 till September but over here in the UK they leave school at 16

we already tried the place he did work experience and there was nothing there, so I'm going to get him ask around at some garages as he is going to do mechanics at collage

even if its just sweeping floors getting drinks

I think him getting a job is a good idea. I got my first part time job when I was 15. I worked as a cashier at a self serve gas station. I worked there part -time during the school year and full time during the summer (filling in for adult employees who wanted vacation). I did that my last three years of high school and it taught me a lot about responsibility, not to mention letting me save up money for university.

There are lots of jobs teenagers can do.

Hope he has success finding something.

There's always working in shops as a part time cashier, or working in restaurants as a bus boy to start or as a waiter. Take away places are good first time job places too.

Good luck.

what does he enjoy doing when he's out? Bowling, cinema, paintballing? sometimes these people need helpers and if he enjoys the things he's working with it may help? sorry, didn't know he suffered with adhd .... how about in a barbers or something like that? they take on saturday staff for making tea and sweeping and stuff ... if you have a paintballing thingy near you it's outdoors and my daughters /f's 15 year old brother was offered a job helping out .... depends if he's an outdoorsy kind of person?
