I'v got this weird situation at my work...

basically Im self employed and share resources and space with one of my best friends, a great guy whos in the same industry as me. . hes away overseas and has employed 2 other
people (one admin one techical ) to run his biz,and has also got me as part time senior tech and project minder.

whats happened is, I have realised over a period of time that the tech he has hired , is well...isn't what he said he is. theres inconsistancies, little things, but they add up. Hes alienated clients. He has big gaps in his tech knowledge. he blows on about how great he is, and the famous people he has worked with....I think hes lying , but not quite been able to bust him yet.

I have to 'repair' stuff hes messed up, show him constantly how to do basic stuff, and next week have to pick up one of the jobs he started as the client doesnt want to work with him, and they are angry...we may lose them.

the thing is, hes so nice ... every one who meets him thinks hes just wonderful.

I feel sick with the worry, and really confused...because he comes across as so nice I doubt myself, and think ....maybe I'm making a situation that doesnt actually exist??

My friend had a niggling doubt before he left for overseas...my reaction was, 'oh no he will get the hang of things, and besides, hes so nice! '...but now I'm working with him and feeling more and more uneasy.

I'v never been in this situation before. its affecting me, triggering my eating stuff...I'm afraid that I'm gonna be the one that has to fire him , this really scares me.

Anyhow, thanks for listening.... getting it out helping clarify things oooh gotta go hes just turned up!

okay.....i was married to the "nicest" guy in the world.....he was seeing young women behind my back........if you have gut reactions, clients refusing to see him....alert the employer. for your good and his. something might happen with the "nice" guy that will reflect on you and the other dude is going to lose business if this keeps up.......good luck!!
