Probably not, as they are peer led (e.g., led by other members) and are meant to supplement the forums as a form of self-help support for grappling with a mental health concern.

Chat leaders set the topics each week, and will let you know (usually beforehand, here in this forum), what the topic will be. The groups are meant as a place to meet new friends with similar concerns, learn new tips or techniques for dealing and coping with a concern, and just check in with others each week in a live chat environment.

Chat isn't for everyone, but I encourage you to give it a try next week! New: Weekly Support Groups in Chat!

Will they be "open for discussion" chats or closed like those on stress that were hosted?

It's up to each individual chat leader on how they will run their chats, but I believe most will be open for discussion, or part of the time will be set aside for such open discussion.

I really hope that a lot of members can find the time to join these group chats. I think it's a wonderful way to communicate real time with our friends, and make new ones along the way.

Thank you DocJohn for giving us another opportunity to grow and connect with each other as we all move through our lives, our struggles and good times as well.

You bet, always glad to help. But a big hand of thanks and appreciation go to all of these chat group leaders who have stepped up to the plate to volunteer their time and energy in hosting these chats each week. That's a great deal of commitment, and I appreciate it.

DocJohn

PS - You can always view the chat calendar anytime you'd like by just click on the main menu item "Chats" up there in the green menubar too...! New: Weekly Support Groups in Chat!

our chats on DD will always be open for discussion for most of the time, and probably increasingly so as we get deeper into the subject New: Weekly Support Groups in Chat!
