I was wondering, just how secure the information that is entered into Live Journal is? If I set it to private, which can be seen by me only, does anyone ever see it when I submit the information as a journal entry? Can it be accessed from search engines?

If you set it to private, no one is ever supposed to be able to see it. Like an email account, I think.

If you want, you can try writing just anything there and setting it to private, and tell me your username and I'll see if I can dig it up. Then you'll know. Just if you wanna test it out.

Then again, I guess you could do that yourself! lol!!!

I don't know what I'm talking about. Ignore me! lol

No... your account is your own, and if you set entries to private, no one else can see them. If you have friends that you want to see something, you can either set it to friends only or you can define custom groups of friends so that only certain people can see.

I have friends and I have 'enemies' there. If the private settings were not really private, I would have been hacked a long time ago.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

You can set individual entries to be private or friends-only viewed too, so your diary itself can be open for sharing but certain entries -- at your discretion, individually -- are restricted and won't be seen.
