My company gives out awards called making a dfference, that you can be nominated for by colleagues or your manager, and I just got one. They're for doing a really good job or going above and beyond the call of normal duty. I got mine because I reduced the time it took to close month end from 10 days to 4 days, even though I've only been on the job for three months.

It makes me really happy to be recognized, and it's a nice boost to my self esteem.

I was off work for 18 months due to mental health and addiction issues and it's been kind of hard getting back into the swing of working full time, so it's nice to have concrete recognition that I'm doing a good job..

What a wonderful recognition.......when we have been down for so long, we aren't sure how we will function in the real world again.....& to have such a wonderful accomplishment that has actually been recognized.......that is wonderful & says a lot about the company you are working for.....many would just take the changes you made & give credit to someone else if they give credit at all.

What a blessing you returned to the working world at such a wonderful company......that continues to build up self-esteem.

Congratulations,
Debbie

Congratulations! That's quite an achievement, reducing the month end time from 10 days to 4 days. That is so nice your company does that. Also, it sounds like they are delighted to have you back!
