Make a post and when the time comes to check back on it to see if anyone has replied you get too scared to look at what other people say?

It happens to me alot. I know the people here are so nice and supportive, so I post here when I'm feeling down or am having trouble with something-or-other, but then when I check back and see that people respond sometimes it's just really nerve wracking and you've got to build up some guts to look.

Guilty! I think that's kinda normal, depending on the environment we're in or were raised in IRL. We expect the same sort of stuff from people here, even if it isn't likely to happen like that.

Me too.
When posting, I usually check in about an hour to see if anyone's replied. If not, then the worry factor is amplified and I start to think that no one liked it that's why they didn't reply to it, that they don't like me.... and so on.
It is mostly just the anxiety speaking.
If I think logically ,I know that's not the reason but when fear rules logic flies out the window and this is one arena where fear dominates.

That said often times when I read a post, I don't reply because
1. I don't know what to say,
2. It hits too close to home,
3. I can't relate at all, be it through lack of experience or otherwise.
Maybe its like that.

Yup I do... I get the same feeling.... oh no, no one is interested, or doesnt like me, did I offend someone , will I get a reply that is upsetting, etc..... I probably have started a post or a reply and deleted it before sending more often than I have posted!! out of fear and anxiety...

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
