The server is having some difficulties today and the problem is being worked with.
We might see the forums on and off throughout today until the problem has been diagnosed and addressed. Thanks so much for your patience and we'll hope that they're up more than down through this.  KD

 Yep, I just wanted to make sure everyone was aware before they started shutting down, checking settings, or having any kind of anxiety or concern that it was their connection/computer. That's what I always do. Thanks for your patience, pegasus. KD

i couldn’t get onto the site this afternoon... (UK time)..... but from reading above i guess that explains it! am so glad it seems to be fixed now.......
just out of curiosity, does anyone know what has sparked the massive increase in new members over the last two days? on the little counter thing in the top right corner it has said nearly 1600 new members in the last 24 hours both today and yesterday! i wondered if the site had been overloaded?

That counter counts new posts, and the numbers of members who have been active over the last day & the last week, not new members.

with pc having problems today, it would be wise to save post on word pad or notepad
as i lost a post just now when i hit submit

My apologies for yesterday's outages. We worked throughout the day with our server technical team to try and troubleshoot the server's issues. We believe (but won't know for sure until today carries on) that we temporarily (at least) fixed the problem.
Thankfully, we're moving on Saturday to a new server and so this problem will definitely be fixed by then. If the problems with the current server continue, we will move up the move time. But I will let you know if that needs to happen... Again, my apologies for the outages. Thanks for your understanding and patience, John

DocJohn, I missed PsychCentral! However, I was sorta surprised by my reaction--usually when I can't get on a site, I get frustrated. My first reaction yesterday was concern for you and the other Admin. I knew you were probably scrambling around trying to fix things...I hope it did not cause you too much stress.
