I'm soo stressed out lately I had two huge group projects one due friday and one due monday. My group decided to be a pain and not do anything, so I was left to create a 60 page masterpiece by myself! It's good for one person, but for a group effort it sucks, I'm imagining a c- or something, not what I need right now! I feel like I'm failing school and life! I wanna scream! and finals are in a week, I don't know if I have the energy for it *whine*.
P.s. I'm new here and I feel bad about being all down so soon. *blushes*

Yes, I know how stressful the end of term is - I'm there now myself! Is there any way you could try to involve the people in your group before your projects are due in? If you think your group may not pull together, maybe you should talk to your teacher and mention that you found it difficult since you had to do the majority of the work on your own.

Good luck.

Katt - don't worry about being down in your posts that is what we are here for. It is good to get things out. I agree talking to your teacher may not be a bad idea.

Well, if it's any consolation... any time I knew of a group project and the group refused to mesh and one or two ended up doing it... the prof gave that one or two the grade and the others failed it! We cannot force anyone to do anything... and if the project is designed for a group effort, then there's no way it be a complete project if done by one or two. (Unless there is plenty of time...)

Do your best, that's all you can do. Worrying doesn't help... we know this.

I soooo know how you're feeling, kay. I've got an essay now that is nearly a month overdue, and in all my other classes Im finding it hard to concentrate and turn in work.

I wish you luck in your exam anyway.

Hi -- I, too, would advise talking to the instructor. When I assign a group project, I let the members of the group grade each other, on a very brief instruction sheet that asks several questions about why the grade is being giving (such as: How do you rate this person on how much he or she contributed to the completed project?). The average of the group grade counts toward each person's grade for the project.

If your instructor does not have a process in place for this balancing adjustment, you definitely must speak up.
