Welcome to Day One at our new community home. We hope you pull up a comfy chair, grab a favorite beverage, and take some time to explore all the wonderful features and abilities of the new software.

In the meantime you may be asking, "Hey, where is X??"

So here's a run-down...

1. The old Forum menu is now back, with all of your familiar menu items. You can access a lot of stuff from this menu, including your PMs, sending a new PM, and common configuration options. "My Profile" is your new user control panel, where you can find a place to change everything from your Time Zone (Edit Options) to your biography info (Edit Your Details). My Profile is also where you can edit things like your Avatar, your Signature, your address book (Contacts & Friends) and all that other fun stuff.

2. Chat rooms are back in that menu too, along with the familiar status indicator of who's in there and how many people are. We'll get the indicators of live chats back online tomorrow, so in the meantime use the "Chats" main menu item to review the schedule. We'll also get these on the new Calendar here.

3. Smilies are either on the side when you post a new thread or a regular reply to an existing thread, or if you use the Quick Reply function, you can see them in a drop-down menu in the editor area itself.

4. We have something new called Social Groups. Any regular member can start a social group, which can be on any specific topic they'd like (e.g., a "I Love the 80's!" group or a "Lost" TV group). Once you start a group, however, you're responsible for it and for getting members into it. You can let others know about your group on the General Discussion forum, but please don't post about it more than once a week.

5. Although our looks may have changed, everything you love about Psych Central is still the same -- the same great members, the same great community support team, and the same great posts that make up the heart of any community. Without you, this would be an empty, hollow room!!

Thank you once again for your patience during the weekend, as the process took twice as long as expected. We will continue to hunt down bugs and tweak things here and there, but the majority of stuff is here and now online.

Enjoy!
DocJohn

It may have take twice as long but it was WELL worth the wait...considering especially the great care you put into moving the items in our online home.

Awesome, and thanks again. I think I'll be saying that for quite some time to come.

:Thanx::Trapeze 2:
