That which does not kill us only makes us stronger....

Are you feeling stronger yet.....(LOL) Wow, that was a
close call. I'm glad you made it alright, metal is a great conductor of electricity. Hugs

That's not something that usually meant to be learnt through experience!

I'm glad you're ok.

Guess they don't teach home economics any more. WOW I'm glad you're ok! Don't use anything, but unplug it first!!! But hey, take it from me, the more shocks you get, the easier they become . LOL

Anyone remember those old cartoon shorts they used to have on Saturday morning that were about electricity safety? They were of the Schoolhouse Rock variety, but they featured a singing bug of some kind...maybe a firefly? This was sometime in the early-mid 80s.

Anyway, that firefly or whatever would have set you straight. j/k...glad to hear you're okay.
Thanks for this!

ouch. Thank God for circuit breakers.

Remember when ...for older folks.... when poor we put a penny in the slot, because we didn't have money for a new fuse??? arrrgghhh! Maybe why I learned always to unplug!

Down here in Florida those safety messages were delievered by Ready Kilowatt! Cute animation of electricity.

Okay, I had to find this out for sure. Turns out the character's name was Louie the Lightning Bug.

Here's a Youtube clip to maybe jog people's memory. Also, while there's no toaster-related advice in it, you might want to pay attention, seeing as electricity seems to "connect" with you so often.

Just be warned, I swear, you listen to this and the song will be in your head for the rest of the day.

The dumbest thing I ever did regarding electricity was a while back about 6 years ago and I had a brokenlight bulb stuck in the light fixture. Someone told me to use a potato to get it out. Well u can can imagine how that turned out. LOL. I guess being in foster care and having a mom who could care less makes you not get the information you need to do stuff like that. LOL
