Law & Order's Jerry Orbach, passed away yesterday in Manhattan, I for one am going to miss him

Oh, NOOOO! I hadn't heard about it yet. What a bummer!! Strange, cause I was watching Law and Order last night (rerun) and was thinking that he was beginning to show his age. I'm going to miss him, too.

Spaz, maybe you're too young for Dirty Dancing, the movie. He was "Baby's" dad. He recently played Lenny on Law and Order.

Oh wow...I recognized the name but couldn't put a face to it until the Dirty Dancing referrence....how sad.....I liked him.

Oh, he was one of my favourite actors on that show as well as Waterston, I was so sad to hear of Jerry's (Lenny Briscoe) passing.
I love the Law and Order shows, I am addicted to the older series with Adam, their original or near original boss. Where I live the cable station that airs the reruns on a daily basis is TNT and USA channel airs SVU, I think Mariska Hagerity (sp?) is cool. Oh well, enough of my ramblings, I think all of us Law and Order fans are going to miss Jerry very much. Take care y'all, DE

The news claimed he lost his battle with prostate cancer, he was only 69 y.o.

He had been receiving treatment for the cancer since April? They expected him to make a full recovery. sigh.

Don't forget Jerry Orbach originated his role of The Narrater in the longest running off-off-broadway show of all time THE FANTASTIKS. I think I sawthe show in the 70's but can't be sure because the actress has been dormant for some years- But I was attending theatre school in the Village at that time and it does seem like I was there.

Jerry was one of my favorites I feel very sad about his passing. On an interesting note that I did not know he was also the candlestick from Beauty and the Beast!!
He will be missed. Jessica
