I only work half days on Mondays. So I leave to go down to my car, at noon, and I always put my car keys in the same pocket in my purse. But today no keys. Ok, I figure maybe I just dropped them into another part of my purse (I carry a huge purse) so I take everything out and pile it on top of my car. Still no keys. This is weird. Start thinking maybe I dropped them when I thought I put them in purse. So I go to security to ask if anyone has turned in keys. No keys. Am now completely baffled. Go back up to office to see if I pulled them out by mistake and left them on desk. No keys. Rempty purse completely this time (even took out all the pill bottles). No keys. Start talking out loud. Check my pockets - no keys. I know I can't have lost my keys but where the hell are they? Now my entire office (all 4 people are interested) One woman says Did you have a jacket? I go OMG I forgot I was wearing a jacket today. Today was the first day it was cold enough to need a jacket. Went to get jacket from storeroom where I'd hung it and sure enough the keys were in my pocket. LOL

It's a family joke about how bad I am about losing keys, but today was a new level of absentmindedness.

when i came to this posting i was sure you'd done something unfortunate, but human. THIS is such a tiny little human thing i thought for a moment of saying somthing sarcastic to you. But seeing as how i am incredibly daft by your standards i will keep my sarcasm for things that really deserve it. i do hope you are not annoyed with yourself for this small lapse of memory. compared to all the really unfortunate things humans do this is cute - one of the things most of us do when change of routine or seasons causes a brief lapse in concentration. my advice to you is to be very thankful your version of "daft" is harmless if annoying to you.

I can relate...believe it or not, I can remember a few times when I thought I had "lost" something, only to realize that I was actually holding it in my hand. No joke.

Don't feel bad. I am notorious for leaving my cell phone everywhere. I left my cell phone at Walmart once and luckily it was when Rex was working and he was carrying it around with him and I even called it thinking that someone would answer it and he couldn't figure out how to answer it so he tried calling me back and then I showed up and when I was at the service desk frantically asking if someone had turned in a cellphone I felt a tap on the shoulder and he just handed it to me with a shake of the head and a slight grin.

I don't have much of an imagination apart from my creativeness, but I remember now looking back at my childhood that I used to loose my wallet... all the ... Time. Actually , I still do it now! It must be this house... Ah the memories... I wish they were there...
