Hey,I wasn't sure where to post this. I looked at all the forums and couldn't find a place to post this.
Anyways, the past few days have been really weird. I haven't been able to do anything right. I was doing homework, and I knew exactly how to spell something. But I kept spelling it wrong, no matter how many times I tried to correct it. I would also get this weird pain in my head every time I tried to. And whenever I think of something, the second I'm about to write it down, I forget, and then when I try to remember, I get the same pain! I'm also doing other stuff... like pointing the hose at myself full blast with HOT water....I didn't try to but its like..I'm doing it, but...not doing it. It's really hard to explain and I don't understand it. I can't even hang onto anything anymore. Everything I try to pick up its like my hands go weak and I drop it. Any ideas at all what could be wrong with me? Does this happen to anyone else? I feel like it only happens to me, and I'm retarded! Thanks for any advice

gee... this sounds more like a possible medical condition than psychological, especially since it's only been the last few days. If it were me, I'd put a call into my MD and let her give me suggestions.. this might be dangerous for you.

See an MD, there's a whole list of things it could be and once you rule those out you can work on the possible psychological and emotional causes

Yipes... I would recommend that you check in with your doctor ASAP. It sounds like there is something physical going on... neuro/motor control. It could be brain chemistry, but other factors should be ruled out, especially if this has just started in the last few days.

I've had neurological problems for years, and some of it is psychosomatic. But some of it was physical too... well everything is interconnected really...

But get thee to the doctor to rule out any physical brain problems.

And let us know how you are doing... keep us posted.

*hugs*

Hello Angel -- I think you are very wise to discuss this with a physican, as you are planning to do. Please keep us posted on the outcome. Good luck.

Yes, you should certainly seak a physician about this. When you have sudden changes like this, it might be due to something neurological. It could of course be stress, but the headaches you get is a bit worrying, so to be sure, check it out. Do you have any kind of neurological diseases in your family (examples: parkinsons, huntingtons, eplilepsy etc)?

But hopefully it's just stress, and you only need a loooong holiday Any ideas what could be wrong?

I don't think we have any of that in my family. Just the common highblood pressure/diabetes and cancers

American~

You have history of high blood pressure and diabetes in your family? The high blood pressure worries me with the symptoms you're describing, especially dropping things and the headaches. High blood pressure can cause problems in the brain. I think you should be on the safe side and call the doctor Monday. It won't hurt to call so why not?

I can relate to the experiences being part physical but also suggestive of dissociation. The part about being somewhat anesthetic to feeling and blasting your skin with forced hot water- like me , I've tried to make my body feel real to my self as derealization begins- trying to reestablish a mind-body connection when I notice that it has broken. In my past I have self-injured to try to reestablish the connection and force my body to feel real. I AM NOT RECOMMENDING the tactic! I have tried yoga but at those times I can't make my mind cooperate when the inner voices are trying to distract. Instead I might free-associate my thoughts on paper which reveal lots of different hand writing and then send the writing to my T just so my selves know they will have been heard. Every part of ourselves wants to be validated and make an impact on another human mind. It was Socrates who wisely said "Speak! That I Might See You." This is the first mandate of psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
MHO I hope this maybe helps.
