yesterday when I opened my email recieved an email survey for Mcdonalds golden arches on it and all. But when I read through it I saw they were asking for my bank account to give me 150.00 bucks for filing out the survey. I walked over to my Mcdonalds just down the street and asked them for the paper version of the survey. the lady looked at me like I was crazy. she got the manager. the manager had me go back to the office and use her computer to open my email and show her the email from Mcdonalds. then she called the number she has for Mcdonalds and shecked with them. they told her to put a notice up on the wall by the ordering area that McDonalds does not do email surveys and that the one going around on line is a scam. Do not fill it out. I was surprised cause it looked so real, it had Mcdonalds logo and everything. while I was there I figured might as well buy a Big mac meal for lunch so at least my trip over wasnt for nothing.

Good for you to check it out! Too bad they didn't give you lunch for the bad publicity they got.

Scammers are getting so good these days that every thing they print out looks as real as can be.... thats why the Golden Online Rule is to NEVER give out personal info online, not even if the email looks like it came from your bank or credit card company.
Thanks for the heads up on this new scam. |
