Apparently drinking coffee can make you hallucinate! Read this article here>>>>>>>>>>>>

Hearing Voices or Seeing Things? Cut Back on the Coffee

Or could it be the other way round? People who hallucinate happen to drink more coffee!

i had read about this regarding schizophrenics and when my ex (he's schiz.)comes to live with me soon i plan to use decaf for him. he loves his coffee...maybe he loves the hallucinations too...but i hope it will help him not having that caffine in him.
i plan to continue my coffee intake as usual, thank you very much..but of course i don't hallucinate either..thank goodness.

7 or more cups would have me peeing so much that the caffeine wouldn't be in my system long enough for voices
other than the ones blaring from my 'puter.

y'all should be able to hear Pavarotti no matter where you live

I heard that story on Nyc radio. I drink a lot of coffee each day, and even so I feel better with it then without. When I get droggy, it is as though I am walking around half asleep in a dream state, so everything feels worse. I have health issues, and it also tires me out, so I feel like if I didn't drink coffee, I would be sleeping on the couch or in bed too much, which was the case a few years ago, when I wasn't being treated. All in all, my mental health has improved even with the coffee. Better to live outside of sleep then asleep.

Another member was just sending me links that drinking coffee reduces the risk of alzhemiers, heart attack and cancer. But now that minime brings it up, I heard voices too "when you finish this cup you HAVE to get in the shower then wake up the kids."

While sipping my coffee and perusing the news, it came to mind that there are so many "experiments" that cancel out each other.
Personally, if I believed everyone of them then I would be afraid to eat, drink, slurp, pass gas on Tuesday, wink at a sweet old man, sing along with Joplin, lay in the grass and look for shapes in the clouds, pass gas on Thursday, read books of a serious nature, read ones of humor, etc. etc. etc.

I put a bit more stock into controlled studies.
One thing I refuse to do is take any drug unless it's been on the market for at least three years. The three years constitutes a massive research on unsuspecting people...it's easier to get a clear picture of side effects when 248,000 folks have nearly identical negative reactions.

Or positive ones...re hair growth as a side from whatever was the name of the original drug. Patients complained about excess hair growth...long story short, it now comes in the creams being used to stimulate hair growth.
Guinea pigs we can be without our knowledge.

I must go and refill my mug and look for more ways to get into trouble today.
First, I'll test if a person really can get a cold if you go outside with wet hair...

On a serious note I do think 'stress' is not a good thing for someone that has psychotic experiences. Does the coffee put someone on edge or would it be more stressful to stop drinking the coffee. De-caff might be the answer but it tastes like ****!

Total agreement with tastes like ****

Long ago in a faraway place when Cap was still walking the halls of the mental hospital-as staff! --decaf was the only coffee available to most of the patients.
Staff drank leaded to ensure fast responses 'cause most of us were very tired and needed false energy.
False energy? I've yet to find positive energy in that context.

We did notice that caffeine produced very interesting reactions on people taking certain drugs. All of them were taken off caffeine products, and it was a blessing for them and for us.
Less agitation was #1 benefit.
