Hello all! It has been a while since I have been active here. Here's what is going on.

I am a licensed insurance agent. I was working in a salaried sales position until the company pulled the plug on our division a few months ago. Instead of selling their insurance products through a field agent program, they are now selling only by call center. This will be the company's loss.

Last month I contacted a very large insurance company that has a great program for people to become independent agents. It sounded good, and they like me, so I came aboard. Currently I am going through some online training, and classroom training starts in February. My business cards should be in in the middle of next week, and then I can start selling. It is all very exciting.

Tuesday was an interesting day. I watched the "Obamanauguration" on television, which was very exciting. Afterward I drove out to do some errands, and was hit from behind by another driver. He was very polite about it, and was very concerned about my well-being. We exchanged our info, and I went to the doctor to check out the discomfort in my neck. He gave me a neck brace to wear for a while. He is worried about the position of vertebrae, considering my rheumatoid arthritis. I have a hunch it will all be over with in about a week. I hate this neck brace.

Anyway, I am not going to let this minor traffic accident slow down the positive direcction life has taken.

It is very exciting. Basically it will be my own business. I was self-employed for well over twenty years. I guess I do not work well in corporate America.

I'm really sorry about your accident - glad you weren't more seriously injured.

Congratulations on the new job. Sounds like it's a great fit for you. I really hope that it goes well.
