Is there a forum on this site for those dealing with alcoholic parents etc...? or is it incorportated into another forum? If there isn't is there an interest to start one? Just wondering.

Hi Del,

I belong to Adult Children of Alcoholics in my community. Have you checked to see if there is one in your town/city? I don't know if there is one here but I don't think so.

I've wondered about this too since it is really a big concern and differs quite a bit from the addictions forum.

Good idea! I've informed DocJohn of this post, so maybe he'll consider it

If you're looking for other online communities that just cater to Adult Children of Alcoholics though, I can look around for you.

(Myself, I'm looking into Al-Anon meetings in my city)

Thanks for your responses. We do have Alonon and ACOA meetings but I thought it might help some (as well as myself) to have a forum dedicated to those who grew up with and live/lived with alcoholics. Living or being raised by an alcoholic can be so destructive to one's self esteem. It would be nice to have a place to share with others who have lived or are living with an alcoholic. Thanks again

My mother has been an alcoholic my entire life, so I can relate. If nothing else, we can always start a social group if anyone is interested.

Tis' a fabulous idea to have a forum or special group for this... as we all can relate to someone who is an alcoholic.

I was married to a family that had many alcoholics in it. My Mom also drank her last years away, (((((Modern))))), and I have family members that have been in trouble for it, time and time again... it can destroy families and cause early death.

I know I would come there, to this group of support ~ wherever it is on here.

Thanks for the suggestion!!!!

xoxo
