Srsly

I was headed downtown to buy feed, Rx, and do my mammogram and the water is over the road. It is getting close too close to my house for my liking and it is still raining. A bit over ten years we had a bad flood where two people died and massive property damage was done and at that time the water was in my yard and under my house.

I really hope it doesn't get in my house this time as I don't have flood insurance. The animals and I can retreat up the hill but I have no place to carry my valuables to.

The water is just beginning to flood my five acre field. It will flood before my house. I had my horse in that field because the grass is higher there but I put him back in the barn which is safe from the water. Unfortunately I was going to buy feed today since I got paid Friday so I only have enough feed for today and tomorrow for the animals. If the power doesn't go out I will be able to feed me and the kid for several days.

I haven't looked at the forecast but I hope the rain stops soon. We have had so much rain in the past six weeks that the ground is already saturated. If the field floods it will tear down my fence but that is no big deal compared to my house.

Please think dry thoughts for me.

Can somebody lend me a boat?

Did you call for one, or for a fleet?

Hope things get better, Dear Person, and I will keep your area in my thoughts and prayers...

Peace and Safety,
Nightbird

Thanks for this!

I hear ya. Here in Arkansas we are getting flooded also. They are calling for rain tonight and all the weekend. Beaver Lake which is the lake near me is almost to flood stage and they are talking about opening the dam to bring the lake levels down and put the water into the White River. Last year when they did that so many homes got flooded. I fear that will happen again this year.

I hear you, Yoda, it's been raining here (Baltimore) since last Saturday....I mean steady. I thought it was going to let up yesterday, but last night it poured like no tomorrow. I live next to a stream, but I'm up near the head and it never floods (thank God).....They are still calling for more till late Saturday....Believe me, I too have had enough of this weather...'dry thoughts'...'dry thoughts'...'dry thoughts'........
