So does Valerian root work? Is it dangerous?

I used to take valerian root along with melatonin to try and help me sleep. It kinda smells bad but it had no side effects for me. Didn't really help with sleep either though. Sorry if this doesn't help. I don't think it's dangerous.

I used to take it to calm down and it was mildly effective. Don't take it however, if you're on psych meds as there can be an interaction.
