i have two disorders that i know of. Severe Depression, and a Severe Anxiety Disorder. i was diagnosed 2 years ago. ive thought recently about getting a PSD (Psychiactric Service Dog) but i just dont know if it would be right for me. im about to begin my freshman year of college, so i wont have much money or anything. but my biggest concern is that since im just leaving home (by 300+ miles) and will be in such a foreign environment, im afraid of myself and what could happen with my disorders. but also, im just simply afraid of being alone. my friends cant always be there to help me after all. i feel as if a companion would make me feel safer and more comfortable in any environment. knowing that i have someone who is looking out for me.

a dog is a lot of responsibility and can be quite costly. if you get a dog through an agency, will they be willing to pay the costs if it gets ill? my other question is where will you be living? I don't know if a dorm would be the best/easiest place to keep a dog.

did you consider going to school closer to home? do you have to go so far away to school or do you feel like this will be the best choice for you?
