Is anyone/ has anyone undergone analysis? What was it like? Did you find it helpful?

Although it looks like you're curious about personal experience, here is a link to a site I like that might help you to learn more about it.

I think a couple people have over in the psychotherapy forum (or at least used the couch 3+ times a week). I've thought about it but it's mostly in New York; I live in the Baltimore area and Baltimore and Washington, D.C. are combined with most analysts having their offices down in the Washington area: http://www.bwanalysis.org/

It is also very prevalent in the San Francisco area. There are many analysts there. I wish I lived there!

You could contribute to their capital campaign?
http://www.sf-cp.org/ I don't think I could do Freudian, much less free association with not much interaction with the analyst.

One would think (I did) psychoanalysts were so wealthy they would not need a capital campaign (makes it sound like we plebeians' March of Dimes or something?); almost like the Air Force holding a bake sale to raise money to buy bombers because the schools receive all the money they want. http://www.eiaonline.com/intercepts/...ols-after-all/
