Not personally. Well I am acquainted with one through other venues. I only responded because I have noticed some have psychotherapy credentials and most don't. That's something to consider because life coaching is so new comparatively. Certification is all over the board which means training is too. At least an MA will have formalized training from an accredited school (theoretically). From there I would scrutinize the coaching accreditation carefully.

As an example I was also acquainted with a life coach who called herself a PhD. When I looked into her credentials I found out her school is one of those places you can buy a degree from. No reputable accreditation. The exams were not proctored. I never would have checked except she was too flakey to be believable and hardly anybody uses the PhD label unless they are a board cert doctor. Don't waste you money on flakes

I have considered a life coach but I decided to go with a T and also do some psycho educational work. That was very helpful.

It was very strongly recommended to me recently that a take a "case manager" rather than a therapist. I have only met once to go over a game plan. She is credentialed as a therapist as well. I think the recommending therapist thought I had already done so much therapy that this case manager was a better idea. I think it is very much like a life coach and focuses on current issues. I have yet to find out though.

I actually met with him on Monday. To be honest it was a relief to be focusing on thoughts rather than feelings. It wasn't easy, but at least felt like something I could do, without sitting there just saying "I don't know".

I am only planning to see him for 4 session in total, but I hope this will be enough to just move me forward from that really stuck place I was in with my therapist.

I hope your sessions go well with your case manager zinco14532323. Soup
