I've started seeing a hypnotherapist. We haven't started hypnotherapy yet, though. I've only seen her for 3 sessions, so we've mostly been getting to know each other and getting to know what issues to work on and all that. This coming wednesday I'm supposed to do my first hypnotherapy session.

Last week we did a 15 minute guided meditation so I would kind of know what it felt like to be so "relaxed" as I would feel when she puts me in to a state of hypnosis, which was comforting, since one of my biggest anxieties was how it would feel.

I'm wondering how many people have had success with this sort of therapy? I'm anxious that what if nothing comes out of my subconscious? What if my subconscious doesn't even remember the first triggering moments of some of my stuff?

Hey, Aanga. I have had several hypnotherapy sessions which helped me to get at some childhood anger.

If you don't remember the triggering issues, then that will be okay. You will make some progress. The important thing is to relax, know that all will be okay, and just let what comes out come out. It could be some issues that aren't really deep in your unconscious, but that would be good, too. So, calm... calm....it'll be fine.....

It's not exactly like what we see on TV, either, as usual.

Okay?

The main thing is trust...making sure you can trust her is important. Part of that is being able to let her know/hear what it is you need to say and trusting her to handle it well.

Yes, this works well with a licensed hypnotherapist. You are really in control, so do breathe and relax. Anything you aren't truly ready to hear, she'll ask you about while you are "under" and if you know you don't want to know yet, she'll let you forget you shared it. Usually you only "find" that which your brain and "self" are needing and ready to share.

It's a good thing. Go with it.

Hey good luck! I've had like 5 sessions. Just make sure that you trust the therapist then it'll be easier
