So I saw the Doctor who does TMS today and he agreed that I would be a good candidate for TMS. Yay!

The next step is insurance approval. So keep your fingers crossed for me. I need this.

I really hope it works for you. I know you've been having a hard time finding something that will work for you. Please let us know how it goes! I might be in the same boat as you soon so I hope it's helpful.

Dear The Well...

I really hope that this might be a treatment that will help you.

If I may make one suggestion, please specifically ask which DOCTOR will be performing the treatments on you. Make sure they are at the VERY LEAST a trained psychiatric nurse or doctor....

Kind regards,
Wysteria Blue

Hello Wysteria,
Thank you for your concern. The doctor I met with is a psychiatrist who does the initial mapping and starts the first treatment. After that it is done by an aide but by then all the settings are in place and the doctor is still in the building.
Thank you,
TheWell

Do you know if insurance will cover it yet? I am curious to see how you get on!

Right now we are waiting to see if insurance will cover it. The doc said that they have had good results with the insurance I have. I will share as I go through the process here.

Great to hear it's looking hopeful! I am actually going in for my consultation on Monday, so maybe we will be doing it together! You can call your insurance yourself and see if they cover it. That is what I did and they told me they would cover me at 100% since I've met my deductable. I'm very hopeful this will be my solution. I'll post my updates as well but I won't hijack your thread.

thanks and good luck with your treatment.

I don't think it's deep TMS. I'm pretty sure it's rTMS (Rapid TMS)

Changing, I hope we go through it together. It will be nice to compare notes. Feel free to hijack away ))

It seems like it would be better to try rTMS first to see if that it's enough then do deep if not but I guess it would be expensive. But hey I'll try either one to get out of this depression. Mine will be rTMS though.

So thought I would update here since I got your permission @TheWell. Did my consult today and the doctor agreed that I am a good canidate for TMS. I actually start tomorrow, barring any issues with insurance. I'll keep you all updated. I finally have some hope.

Hopefully it will work out for you too @TheWell I am curious to see if it helps you.

Wow, it's taking awhile, have they said why it's taking so long?
