A lot of people say no, you cant because of the interaction. What about a tiny dose? Also considering, if your not taking a high dose of an ssri which im not.. One doc i saw said i could but i didn't take it for very long. Im just trying to do everything i can to get better, med and nonmed treatments

I took St. John's wort with an SSRI for a long time. I can't remember dosages or even which SSRI it was. I didn't notice any difference at all so I quit buying it. I don't remember any adverse effects. I think the danger is to much serotonin.

Why are you on a low dose of an SSRI? Generally it's better to increase the dose of the SSRI you are currently taking and if that's not sufficient, or perhaps switch to an SNRI or add/switch to Wellbutrin.
If you want to try an add-on natural supplement I suggest fish oils instead, which have other health benefits too. If you want suggestions on more specific info let me know. Good non-med options include therapy, meditation, and exercise. |
