Nothing much to report except watched more of King Kong (2005) and yikes -- Carl Denham is just...awful. It's like Driscoll says; he has an amazing ability to destroy the things he loves. Even watching it, it was pretty clear how much Carl had gone off the deep end. Kong's rampage was horrific, but I think the blame really lies on Denham. Kong was mostly terrified of being in a strange new environment, chained up, kidnapped, and having no clue where Ann is. It was still awkward when Ann first met him in Central Park, especially considering the rampage beforehand -- just kind of jarring to see him go from destroying things (curiously, he doesn't kill the blond women he mistook for Ann, I don't think. He just kind of casually flicked them aside) to being gentle with Ann. It's still jarring, even though the ice skating bit was genuinely lovely, as was them briefly watching the sunset over New York. Thing about Peter Jackson is that he can really do powerful scenes. And Driscoll was awesome, from getting the others evacuated to going to find Ann. Ann was cool too, just in her cleverness and resourcefulness. I think everyone not named Carl Denham was awesome.
So I might be going off to a camp for a while to develop some independence skills. Hopefully, that'll go well. This is the last neurofeedback session I may have until I leave. I had a mixed experience at the last sleepaway camp I went to, so I am nervous. The session itself mostly had a case of measuring the prefrontal cortex and such. Can't say I was always good at the exercises -- they're not really my forte -- but I did try. I think lack of sleep may kind of contribute to this stuff, so I'll have to try and catch up on that.
