I don't get this. Some days when I take things I notice effect, other days I don't. Didn't always have this problem, but now I do, and it seems to be with anything.
Now I'm trying to regularly supplement on an Amino Acid Complex, and sometimes when I take it, I feel like I clearly absorbed it, I feel so balanced and healthy, I feel like I'm at my maxed potential, so that's when I know I absorbed it. And then other times, nothing. I notice little difference or none at all. I try taking it on an empty stomach or with food, always get different results. You're normally supposed to take it on an empty stomach, but sometimes it won't absorb when I do, so I take it with food, and then it'll absorb, and then it won't absorb with food. This is aggravating. Tried also taking it with a multi-vitamin, omega 3s, B vitamins, enzymes, and still the same thing. Sometimes it will absorb, sometimes it won't. What's wrong with me? Am I missing something? Help!!! |

What amino acids are you taking? Maybe something in your diet, that you eat off and on, is counteracting the effect. Just a thought.

I've never seen a product that combines so many amino acids. Off top of my head that seems nuts. I think it's generally advisable to take amino acids individually based on need, and so that response can be assessed.
Also some of these amino acids are antagonistic i believe, meaning they cancel each other out if taken together, e.g. Arginine and Lysine. Just my take. |

It's a "complex"
It's the multi-vitamin version of amino acids. You don't want to supplement individually unless you literally know your deficiency, even then you still want to take a complex because a period of use will cause an imbalance. Google Amino Acid Therapy. That's the thing, sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. I notice a massive difference, I feel maxed out. Other times I barely notice a difference if any at all. And it can't be "tolerance" because this is a precursor substance, and this occurs randomly. Other people don't seem to have this issue from the reviews, not even just this brand either. I also believe the addition of free form+vitamin b6 allows the amino acids to be absorbed without canceling each other out, because in a normal diet they will, while that's the purpose of supplementing, to ensure your body absorbs all 20 (and additional) amino acids your body needs that can't be acquired in a normal diet. Plus, if you take a good amino acid complex, you won't need to supplement or medicate on any issue that is chemical related. An imbalance is the cause of most if not all chemical related disorders, and amino acids are the precursor to most neurotransmitters. |

I dont take multivitamins for the same reasons. If I react adversely, would have no idea which nutrients are causing the problem, and nutrient needs vary with the individual. With regard to AAs, everything I've read suggests you supplement individual AAs based on need. But maybe it depends on the objective.
Not sure about your inconsistent response. Are you taking other supplements that could be a factor? |

I try taking it on its own on an empty stomach as directed, and sometimes it'll absorb, other times it won't. Tried taking it with food, same thing. Other amino acid complex supplements I tried from different brands seem to have this exact same issue, generally have this issue with supplements altogether, no matter what I take.
I've also tried taking it with multi-vitamins, digestive enzymes, an additional vitamin b6 supplement (usually the amino supplements come with b6), tried taking it with omega 3 fish oil, tried taking it little water or lots of water, tried taking it with iron, choline (precursor to acetylcholine that you don't get with amino acids), magnesium, probiotics, etc, all the same things. It'll work or it won't. |

Look up migrating motor complex or MMC. It's to do with the cycle your gut is in.
