So I recently have read a few articles about the Ashwagandha plant and how it is beneficial to a host of problems like improving sleep, reducing depression, anxiety and stress, reducing inflammation, et cetera. I was considering trying it but it would be great to get some first hand accounts of whether it was effective or not. Has anyone tried this?

I tried it for anxiety but I'm not sure if it worked for me or not. It is one of the first things people recommend for anxiety so I'm sure it does work for some people. I think it's a matter of using the right brand and the right dose. For improving sleep and reducing anxiety, try lemon balm, magnesium glycinate and valerian root. That mix will certainly help.

Yes, it has a lot of potential - easing the tension.

I use Ashwaganda daily. It's one of the only things that helps my depression. I didn't know it helped with anxiety until I started feeling more relaxed. It's been great for me. I get it in powder form from my naturopath Doctor a pound at a time for like $22. It's amazing! I was using it as needed but found taking it consistently helps me stay in a better place consistently.

I only wish I would have found it sooner.

I say give it a shot. I haven't noticed any side effects and I am super sensitive to medicine, supplements, and herbs.

Good luck!

I don't advise taking ashwaganda all the time. When I took it in the past, I didn't feel like myself. It was too much. I have the impression it modifies your personality.

I used to take it but I didn't really notice the impact. I had it in both tea and tincture forms. People around me said I didn't seem as anxious but I'm not sure I'd have noticed if they hadn't pointed it out. I think it's worth a try, though.
