Since getting off meds, my insomnia is bad and worse than ever. Unisom by itself doesn't work and melatonin(it is a mix of that and a lot of herbs) by itself doesn't work.

I tried both at the same time and it did work quickly. I don't know if this is a stupid question but is this dangerous? I couldn't find any reports of negative interactions but that isn't a surprise when dealing with supplements. The only thing was a warning that they both cause sedation.

You can save money and buy generic Benadryl, it's the same thing as unisom

Benadryl contains Diphenhydramine which is not the same thing, there is a Unisom that contains. I can't take it because it causes restless legs. Like I mentioned I am taking doxylamine.

I did thanks, can't believe I didn't think about doing that.

She was concerned that I am on a barbiturate for headaches and gabapentin for nerve pain because they allegedly make people tired but they don't do that for me. She said it should be okay for a short time but I need to see a doctor to get something better.
