About 3 weeks ago, I was in real trouble emotionally, feeling SU, no motivation, unable to concentrate, super anxious, super depressed, you get the idea. So my pdoc increased one of my meds and it helped a lot.
Coincidentally around the same time, I went to my GP to get my iron levels checked because I was losing hair. She checked my iron and found it was severely low, so she immediately put me on 90 mg / day of Ferrous Gluconate. I was doing some reading and really low iron, can mimic some of the symptoms of depression. So I'm sure the iron supplement is also helping my mood. All I know is I'm feeling better than I have in ages. I wouldn't recommend going out and just starting an iron supplement, because too much iron can be dangerous, but it might be worth getting your levels checked. splitimage |

I know what you mean. I used to take ferrous sulfate because I was anemic. I got a lot happier. Be aware that you will have to stop taking these though. Once the iron levels get back up to normal, your GP will make you stop taking them, or else there is a risk of iron poisoning! I was on them too long, and it just hurt me.
Take care while you have them! I'm glad you feel good. I think, from my own experience, that it relieved a lot of stress. Maybe that is why you feel good? IDK. ![]() (The hymn in your signature is my favorite too!) ![]() |
