It can happen very fast, just FYI. You should know based on what you talk about with your doctor and care team. Have you improved? Where I was, you took small trips home or out of hospital as a way of building up to the main event of leaving. I was in a good hospital though. I’m sure others have different experiences. But yeah, you might not feel ready to leave as there might be apprehension about leaving a controlled environment but you should be feeling better overall than when you came in.

refreshing my memory here... you recently posted the same question with a different twist... you wanted people here to tell you what weight you have to be in order to be hospitalized... I say with a twist because if someone tells me what number I have to be on a test to pass then I automatically know what number will get me a failed grade... same with weight issues... if someone tells you what weight they release people from a hospital then you automatically know your answer for what weight you need to go down to in order to be hospitalized. heres the thing on eating disorders and weight...……….there is no magic number either way. its all individual based on other things like what meds a person is on, what their other than eating disordered health problems are, whether your blood work is showing abnormalities. what kind of life style you have, what your race and cultural background is and much much more that only your doctors have access too.. let me give you an example...…. using an over exaggerated / fake number to show my point. I can be 2500 pounds and still register on annorexic and hospitalization needed if my blood work says my thyroid isn't getting what it needs to function right. I can be 2500 pounds and register as completely normal if my blood work shows I am healthy and so forth. I can be 250) pounds and be listed as obese depending upon my bloodwork, over all health issues, culture and so on. line in the sand no one here can tell you actual numbers as they relate to you or in general because it is so individualized. please contact your treatment providers rather than trying to match what weights people tell you online. its different for everyone. |

I'm totally confused about why you ask this question. Do you not want to be admitted so you are trying to make sure you don't get too low or do you want to get admitted because you need help? Ultimately its a medical decision based on your medical status. It's not a number.

Differing psych hospitals use different programs. Leaving an inpatient program is something that you and your doctor will decide.
