Is there really a correlation between domestic cats and psychosis? I have two cats and clean their litterboxes frequently. Could this be causing my psychosis? There is a book by E. Fuller Torrey MD, entitled, Parasites, Pussycats and Psychosis. I have not read it, but I assume the author is saying that there is a positive correlation between toxoplasma gondii, which is a parasite found in cat feces, and psychosis. I have done brief research on this topic before, so I am a little familiar with it already. At least familiar enough to understand the main take-away. Is there a correlation?

That is a good question. If you find out anything more, would you share it here?

Here's a study by the NIH:
Toxoplasma gondii and Schizophrenia Something inside of me tells me that I shouldn't bother wasting my time reading it or informing myself. Perhaps this is a symptom of my Schizophrenia? |
