I've been out of the hospital 6 weeks and I've emailed my inpatient doctors several times because they wanted me to follow up on a study which could help me (and I wanted to update them). And I emailed Dr today to ask about what other ideas he had for me. When I was in the hospital he told me if Saphris didn't work he had other ideas and I wanted to know what they were. I've been struggling really badly (and went to ER last week). I haven't heard back from either doctor.

Did they, or the hospital, refer you to another Dr? If so then you should be contacting that Dr.
As for the study. In my experience if a Dr. feels a study would be a good fit, then they provide me with information on how to contact the study's in-take people along with how to apply, and what the criteria for acceptance are. If they haven't and you're interested you might have more success contacting the Drs' assistants and saying you're looking for study info. It's been my experience that inpatient Drs don't follow up with you once you've been discharged. |

Do you have a family doctor who could contact them on your behalf? Where I live it would be protocol that one's family doctor contact them. |

It’s not wrong but you are unlikely to get a response as the key word here is “inpatient “ you are no longer inpatient. In my experience inpatient doctors cut all ties to patients once they’ve been released regardless of what they say while you’re inpatient.
