Does anyone here have a tarantula or know anything about them? If so, I'd like to compare notes and info . . . . . . .

The quiet scares me 'cause it screams the truth.
Please don't tell me that we had that conversation,
'Cause I won't remember, save your breath 'cause what's the use?

Aahh, the night is calling, and it whispers to me softly,
"Come and play". Aahh, I am falling, and if I let myself go
I'm the only one to blame.

I'm safe, up high, nothing can touch me, but why do I feel
this party's over?
No pain, inside, you're like perfection, but how do I feel
this good sober?"

I sure hope so, I've tried finding info on my pet before but all I find is general stuff -- they tend to group all the species together like they're all the same, and they're not! I'm looking for specific info on "Rose-haired tarantulas" -- how long they live, temperature sensitivity, and preferred tank layouts. If you can find out any of that I'd be greatful.

That sounds AWESOME!!

Planning on owning a tarantula?? If you do, post pictures! I'd love to own one, they're so much fun and ticklish. (walking on your hands I mean or on your arms...)

as far as im concerned, you might as well tell me to jump over the moon than let a SPIDER crawl all over me. That big. Nonononono.

I can respect them and do think they are beautiful. From a distance.

Wow, you guys are really awesome, thanks for all the links.
Christina and Rainbow -- The story of "Rose", my tarantula, for your pleasure. I've had her about 13 years now (yes, really). I was hanging out with some of my neighbors and we were partying, having a good time, when all of a sudden Craig started cussing about his girlfriends tarantula. She kept it over at his place and he hated it because it had bitten him twice. He threatened to stomp it - dumb, enebriated me said "No, give her to me, I'll take care of her"! Those are the circumstances leading up to my ownership.

Over the years I've tried finding specific info on her species but everything was generalized and vague. Even the pet shops didn't offer much help. I'd go online but any searches I did would come up with "pink-toed tarantulas", which are way different. No one could give me an accurate guess on the life span, either. Then it finally dawned on me that this site would be a good place to ask about her.

If anyone is curious or has questions about Rose, I'd be happy to tell you about her.
Thanks for this!

If all of you are interested then I'd be glad to. It will be at least 3 or 4 days, though, because I'll have to get with my brother and use his digital camera. I will though, just as soon as I can.
Thanks for this!
