Well... after 2 syringes full of water, huge drinking of water later, much throwing up of water, near siezures, loss of mobility, honey on his gums, much much much crying, and a ride to the vet hosp ($88 ) where the took his near limp body from my arms, mouth hanging open, eyes nearly shut.... took his glucose level, found it to be horribly low and so fed him to get his sugars up.... my cat is home. We have to feed him every two hours tonight tho, and no insulin in the morning (he was getting too much). Evidently cats are strange and sometimes are non-diabetics. So he was going into insulin catatonic. @_@ But all is better now. I am staying up the next 1.15 hours to feed him tuna at 2am and mom will get up for the next shift. *yawn*! I still have my cat!!!! Thank all holy entities!!!

I'm soooo happy you still have your kitty!!

You did really good work with kitty to attempt to turn him/her around. I know these diabetic pet issues can be so unusual at times.

Good for you!!! Give your Purr-Purr a scratch under the chin for me!!

Your post brings back mixed emotions for me.......my girl had chronic renal failure (CRF) and her and I spent many a nights awake batteling those frequent feedings and trips to the emergency vets and such. She lost her battle after fighting like a lioness after almost 2 years. When she was dx. the vets wouldnt even give her 2 weeks to live......she was my amazing girl...anyways.....i just wanted to tell you i am sending lots of purrs and hugs to you and your kitty. I hope she stays well

And "Ely"...i just LOVE your statment (or maybe its your signature???) on your post about "normal" and washing machines!!! I have never heard that one and it made me laugh....so thank you

"purr-purr" - that's really cute.

thanks both - he is still touch and go right now - still feeding every two hours. but looking a lil better each time. The last time, he was fast asleep. I went in and said "TROUT?!?!" and he LEAPED up =) He loves fancy feast trout. Rarely ever gets it. So much for cats having a 16 hour memory! i think it's much more a *selective* memory lol

Wanttoescape - sorry to hear about your own lioness =( perhaps she shall use one of her 9 lives to rejoin you again in a new cat form. I know mine did.
