He's here! He's here!!!!!!

The new horse was delivered a week ago. I gave him a few days to settle in. I worked him for the first time over the weekend. He was great. Most of what we did was new to him. He seemed puzzled about why we were doing what we were doing, but he tried his best to sort it all out. And he handled it all fine. I haven't ridden him yet since he arrived. IT's pitch dark by the time I get home from work and my ring doesn't have lights anymore. Plus the weather has been sucky. I plan to try and ride this coming weekend.

I'm so happy to have him. I've missed getting my "horse fix" while Gracie was so sick and then after she died. I don't need to explain to the horse people in the group what I mean, but he helps fill an emptiness in my life. I'm starting to feel whole again.

Oh yeah. His name is not Coyote. It's Kioti, pronounced key-o-tay. But it means coyote. I'm not sure I'm going to keep the name. Coyotes are not very nice animals so the name has some negative conotations. I've always believed that names come with getting to know the animal.

Again I am happy, happy, happy
