I'm sorry! How sad! My parents & my dog isn't fond of fireworks, either. Dogs make the best pet!

That would have been for Guy Fawkes/Bonfire Night, yes? Our dog's in the same club - terrified of fireworks and thunder. Frequently find him in the bathtub during storms.

My dog I had when I was little was like that. I hated to see her be soooo scared. We ended up getting her some relaxing meds from the vet and that worked very well.

I'm sorry. It is so scary for them. I am lucky that my dogs, and my little Chihuahua aren't in the least bit scared of loud noises and sudden bangs. But I feel desperately sorry for the dogs and cats that are terrified by this.
