I just don't know what's going on here! I went to work in a relatively good mood and shortly an hour after I got there I got a call from my oldest son. He went to put the dogs out and our youngest Yorkie died last night. I'm just in shock.

(((AAAAA))

How sad - my condolences.

We had a beloved German Shepherd in the prime of her life. I was home with my teenage son, and she was sleeping on the floor in front of us. She awoke, tried to get up, and looked at us with a horrified look on her face - she couldn't get up. With encouragement from us she tried a little harder, but started convulsing. After a few minutes, she died in our arms. We felt as though our hearts had been ripped out, and it was equally difficult to call my husband to give him the news.

It turned out the cause was an undetected tumor on her spleen that burst.

The hardest part of owning pets is having to say good-bye.

We had no warning, no way to prepare ourselves.

(((((AAAAA)))))),

I just read your post about the loss of your yorkie.....I am sorry for your loss......There is nothing worse than loosing one of our babies. It is such a helpless feeling.

I know I lost one of my eskies last year to something stupid I had done (turning his outside with a choke chain color rather than a normal colar)....the shock is more that we can handle & no different than the loss of one of our human children.

They say that time heals....but I am still healing after all this time.

My heart goes out to you & your family,
Debbie

I'm so sorry to hear about your Yorkie. I had a tiny little Yorkie who passed on New Years Day of 2006, just two weeks after I lost my mother. I now have two adorable puppies: 3 yr old Crickett, Dachshund, and 2 yr old Zach, a Multipoo (half Maltese and half Poodle). They are the best of friends and my only company during the day time hours. I would be lost with out them. They are sleeping on the couch, next to me, as I type this to you. After my little Max died, we got a dachshund from the Norht American Dachshund Rescue - little Maddie. She just pass the end of June of Cancer. We only had her for three years, but we gave her the best forever home we could. Crickett is also a product of the NADR group - her family before us left her behind in thier repossed home with no food or water... She is now a health and sassy little girl! She and Zach are loads of fun, well behaved, and love toys! My house looks like I run a preschool by the end of the day!

I'm a mother of 2 grown sons, and I've been happily married for 34 years now.

God Bless You and Your Family

She got to the point where she was week and could hardly move anymore.. So we put her down.. It really pulled at the heartstrings..
