I have 3 dogs, 2 cats, and some fish. They are all indoor animals. I also have a horse back home with my folks. They are my most prized support system. I watch Ceasar Millan a lot so I try really hard to project positive energy around them since they are so tuned into our emotions. It is helpful as motivation to manage my moods. They always love me no matter what mood I am in. They help me through the day. Solomon is a doberman pinscer and is almost 9 years old. He is loyal and a great guard dog. He makes me feel safe as a young woman. He is very smart and obeys all my commands immediately. I trust him completely. Ruger is a 4 year old greyhound mix. He loves to run like the wind and is always happy-go-lucky. Catching the frisbee is his favorite thing to play. He is brindle all over and is very striking in appearance. I wish I had his energy. He brings a smile to my heart on rainy days. Manchas is a 2 year old Chihuahua but he doesn't act like a typical chihuahua. I won't let him. He is sweet and not yappy. He loves his mommy and wants to sit in my lap all the time. He gives me sugar and makes me laugh. He still looks cute like a puppy and everyone he meets just loves him. My husband and I love to take our dogs out in public whenever we can. They enjoy getting out to see the world and people enjoy interacting with them.

When I am down and can't seem to get up, they are always around to hug on.

Yes, your post shows how important our animal friends are for us emotionally. I know I would be a lot less happier and a lot less grounded without my cat and dog.

Yes I am a veterinarian, and we veterinarians tend to collect animals around the house. lol. The hair is murder to clean up after, but I really could care less b/c they give back so much to me.
