I found her at a pound on Long Island
a mutt she barked and was jumping at the sides of her stall i thought-"nope- that one's too hyper for me!" They told me she was 9 years old-- a rescue from Hurricaine Katrina People kept adopting her and bringing her back i said-"she's too hyper to be 9- too hyper for me!" shows to go how wrong you can be she had hip dysplasia when i got her, had a hernia, also had been in a Motor Vehicle Accident We used to walk all over Beelerose-- hours of walking-- it was great. Then, I came out here to "help my son thru his divorce" ugh sold the house, trusted son with money- stupid expectations She's about 14 now--sleeps 22 out of 24 I make her food homemade chicken both-chicken breasts, carrots, sweet potatos celery, separately I make brown rice; I pop open fish oil and lecithin caps into her food I love this old dog- the only truly nice place to be besides up a mountain or Red Rock is the dog parks When good weather- we go everyday she just lies there-- sometimes i get her to walk but this winter she developed Irritable Bowel and she bleeds from pain meds vet gave me for arthritis. She makes life sane i waken from dreams- there again- or under one of my brothers' friends- i touch on her presence with me--all's well the paralysis , the silent screams go away- I love Crackers. |
