in less than six months, i've lost three of my four fav cats. and now, three weeks since the last one died, my kitten dies.

i was at my aunt's house for a few days for my birthday. when i get back, my dad tells me that my kitten died. i mean, wtf... if i'd been here when he died, i'd be blaming myself for it. so right now, how can i not be mad at my parents for letting him die? (he was just fine when i left) and worst of all, i never got to say goodbye.

i cannot even begin to describe the pain that is inside of me right now. it just hurts so much! part of me doesn't even want to see the other cats right now. i mean, i just buried my fav cat on easter. i can't take anymore of this...

I am so so sorry. I have lost many pets in my life and it just hurts so much. They're our little friends and it's horrible to lose them.

At least you know where they are when they die and that you've given them the best life you could. My cat was stolen last year and even after putting ads up offering 5K which was my entire bank account..to get him back.. nothing. I've had animals die but he's the first one that was taken from me in another way and the pain is a different kind of pain.

My beautiful little 4lb kitty died 6 months ago suddenly from kidney failure. She was black and white and long haired and really beautiful and adorable because she was special because she looked like a kitten her whole life. She gave and insisted on receiving continual love.I miss the weight of her on my chest every night when I went to sleep. I believe in the rainbow bridge and I believe she is playing there until I come to meet her. I have her sister who is equally small and kitten like and two kittens I got after I grieved her loss. One of the kittens has a minor heart problem. I got him an echocardiogram and they say he should live a normal life. He looks like the picture of health and weighs 10.8 lbs at 6 months. His sister is only 5.1lbs but is in charge. The vet said she is sweet, adorable, healthy and tiny the perfect little cat! I will hope for the best. I still cry when I think of my little Princey but I am getting better at remembering the happy times. It takes a long tome to get over the loss of a pet with love from Roseann.

I'm sorry you lost so many cats - was it something contagious?

Hi,

Have you asked your vet to do an autopsy to see why these cats are dying? My next question is do you have guinea pigs or rabbits in the home? If so, there is a disease that rabbits and guinea's are carriers for that I only found out about when we lost our little cat about a year ago. It broke our hearts. This disease is called Pasturella but might be mispelled. I am so sorry for your loss and I hope you find the reason.

I'm so sorry about your cats. They are our fur family.

I was also wondering if you took any of the to the vet to find out what killed them? Maybe it's something contagious like fe-luc or distemper?

I am so sorry for all of your losses. Please do try to ask her Vet or read books. Also maybe there is a grieving pet site here somewhere. bipolarbearV
