Does the big ol' happy grin smilie give you an idea how I feel about my new kitty?
![]() When my Sambeckett died last fall I told myself I was going to wait until at least spring before I considered getting another cat. Last week I was at another location for our company and a co-worker mentioned they'd rescued a kitten from under the storage shed the day before. She'd taken it home, but couldn't keep it. I thought it over and decided to go have a look. Do ya think I'd already made up my mind when I took the cat carrier with me? ![]() It was love at first sight on both our parts. Needless to say I took her home with me. She's a blue-cream calico (light grey and cream). I named her Abby after the character on NCIS. No she's not a goth-kitty. I just love Abby's character and the name seemed to fit the kitty. She was infested with fleas when I got her. It's summer in Florida and she'd been living outside. It's a given she would be flea-ridden. A couple of drops of Advantage and the beasties are gone. She's also got a little running nose and sneezes some. She seems to be getting over that OK though. She's bright, energetic and into everything. The other two cats at home weren't too sure they liked her at first. Boomer quickly discovered she likes to play, so does he. Once he learned to tone it W-A-Y down because he's ten times bigger than her they started having a good time together. Callie seems resigned to having to share the house with "that thing". She got over hissing at Abby in a couple of days, but doesn't really want anything to do with her. Callie always has had trouble dealing with change. I'm giving her lots of extra attention so she doesn't feel left out. My oh my have I gone on! ![]() |

Aww....kitty.
I've had my "new" kitty for about a month now and my other cat still hisses at him. I feel so bad now. I wish she would just learn to like him. |

Oh my, youve got your hands full. Its so wonderful to see them get better and adjust to a happy life. What lucky putters you have. We have a new chair my sister wont let me sit on even if Ive just taken a shower but I walked in to see our newest stray kitty stretched out on it from one end to the other. Sister didnt even as much as bat an eyelid at that. What gives?

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Thanks everyone. I'm still happy about her joining the crew at home. It's been years since I had a kitten in the house. She's SO much fun! Blue, you are right about rescues. Most of my fur family are rescues. Squirrel, it might take awhile, but hopefully your other kitty will adapt to the newcomer. One of my other cats is still not too happy about the new addition. I'm lavishing extra attention on her and it seems to help. Ruffy, need I say your sister seems to place higher value on kitty than on people? ![]() |
