So, I woke up this morning to meowing, and it wasn't his normal meows, it was like he was in pain.
My dad claimed it was a stomache ake.
I could tell he was in horrible pain, though everyone kept saying he wasnt.

I called the vet, and told them he would meow when you touch his stomache, and it would puff up extreamlly bad and he would shake.

She told me to follow him when he goes to the bathroom.
I followed him twice, he couldnt go, and when he tried he would let out this meow that sounded like a scream and fall over.

So, I called her back, and she said it sounds like he has big stones blocking him from going, and that its leaking in his stomache and causing him horrible pain, and he can die in a day.

She told me its going to cost around 500-700 bucks.

We dont have the money

All I have is 40 bucks, and I need more than that to bring him in

I have to wait till tommarow to get my dads check to pay for it, and thats are rent, but my cats way more important.

I dont know what to do, I've been crying all day and cant stop.

Any advise?!!!!!!

That's just too much money, imo. I'm sorry that your kitty is ill and may die. But to spend that on a cat when there's a legal obligation plus the roof over your head involved? Tough decision, but that's what adults have to do, make those tough decisions. Animals die. That's a horribly sad fact. I still mourn all my losses of animals, but humans come first.

Can you try giving Timmy some pumpkin? It helps move things along more easily, according to my vet.

We tryed giving him some water, and food, but the vet advised us not to feed him or give him water.

All I have to do is wait.
And it seems like ever ten minutes is a hour.
I just dont know what to do, He's like my little furry child
And my whole family is so upset and I feel like its all my fault for adopting him.

It's weird, he was fine playing around yesterday with my cat, and this morning it was a whole different story

I will, I promise =] and it's costing me 1000 dollars, 500 for the surgery, 500 for the 5 day over night stays there.

But Timmy has a 98% chance to live, with the surgery, and there letting me give them 45 bucks ever week till me and my fam pays it off. If he did not get the surgery he would have died in 4 hours. So i'm glad that my Timmy will be coming home better in a week.

YAY for awesome vets!

It is situations like this that prompted me to start thinking of a charity that could be made for this type of situation. I am currently speaking via email back and forth with OUR SPCA's Executive Director, who has agreed to sort of "take me under her wing" should i choose to go ahead with trying to start it up.

I am so glad your kitty is going to be ok. Sometimes the vet will reccomend special food after stones - I will warn you, your looking at about 40 bucks a month in some cases(oh, would be less, your in america not sure the price) but it really and truly is worth the forty bucks as it will prevent this from ever happening again.

**** THE WORLD. I just called my vet, and Timmy died.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really out of that 2 percent thats what happens to him?!
I cannot stop crying, seriouslly WHY?!

He got threw surgery good, but there was alot of complications, they found out he had a bad heart, and he had a heart attack about 15-20 minutes after surgery.

I miss him so much, he was only 3!
The only things I have in life that make me happier are my boyfriend, mom, my cat that just died, and niki.
I just miss him so much, he was my furry little babies<3

We were so happy that he got threw surgery, then we call back to check up on him and "I'm so sorry, but Timmy has past away, he had a bad heart and died of a heart attack". That felt so bad and I could not stop crying for hours.

I'm glad that hes not having pain no more, and I'm happy that the vet tried as hard as he could. But I miss him like hell, I wish he was here so I could cuddle him like always<3

My friend is getting him cremated for me since I do not have the money to do it. I'll be happy to have him here with me.
I'm going tommarow to say my goodbye to him with my fam, I know im going to flip out, But I really need to do this or I wont feel complete.

Oh no I am so sorry bowwzie#2...

But you know, it does happen. Not even just to animals. Its a sad fact that even humans can have a hard time with surgery. When my aunt had her hysterectomy, she had a heart attack the next day. The doctor told her afterward(she survived, but later died of another HA last year, she was only 53 )that some people are just seemingly traumatized by surgery/their bodies have a very hard time with it. Its why i am so frightened of surgery, even when my broken foot was mended i was terrified i wouldn't wake up.

How sudden though. I wonder why they didn't call you right afterward, though maybe they wanted to give you a bit more time before making that call.

Will you keep your ashes or sprinkle them? You can do both if need be.

Just remember that this is not your fault. There was nothing ANYONE could have done. The vet would have done all they could do for him, it sounds like your vet is very compassionate.

The good thing, if there is a good thing - hopefully there would not have been much suffering. Usually if an animal has a heart attack they die quite quickly, which i think is better than long suffering. Still though

When you go the vet, spend all the time you need to say goodbye. The vet will make sure he is kept safe until you do so.

Many hugs!

Such sad news. I'm so sorry. Losing a pet is so difficult...and after having such a high hope too. Take care of yourself.

I feel so bad, My other Cat Jones looks so lost and is just confused. He's been meowing for Timmy looking for him, but Timmy is not there.

He's so heart broken and you can tell, But he keeps meowing waiting for Timmy to pounce on him and start playing. Idk what to do, I dont want to get another cat, I would feel like i'm replacing Timmy, even though theres nothing in this world that could replace him, but I dont want Jones to be lonely, idk what to do

partner animals or other household pets DEFINATELY do greive. That is what is going on - he is wondering where his buddy is!

I think for both of your well being, i would hold off on another kitten just yet. Take some time to heal from this - cat needs some time too! In the meantime, provide him with lots of love, support and human affection(and a few treats wont hurt either!) and let him go through his emotions. It is just as important for a greiving animal to be given time to process something like this as it is for a human who has lost someone.

Encourage Jones to spend time with you. You can help each other to feel better. Cuddle him whenever he will allow, but don't push it if he seems standoffish. Much like people, every animal handles emotion differently.

On the picture - thats fine hon. You can send it whenever you get it and I'll create something with it

Yes we do =] And I'm glad that he lived a happy life with me and my family.

He was the sweetest cat ever, He used to hug me around my neck with his little paws, it was so cute x'] , He also used to wait at the end of my stairs till I wake up so he could get picked up and get his morning kiss, it was so cute!!!

I miss him so much, But there's really nothing I could do about it, and I will not blame myself for his death.

But to warn all of you with cats, The Vet said that feeding a cat to much sea food cat food can give them kidney stones, including tuna, and if they have stones allready it can really agrivate them, which happened to my cat. This mostlly happens with male cats, thought I would just give you guys a little heads up.

I am so sorry about the loss of Timmy. I know how much our pets are our children & family. I know that all my pets have been my family.

Growing up & had a male fixed cat named Buffy. He always had kidney problems....the vet told us the same thing.....do not give male fixed cats tuna because it causes kidney problems & blockages (stones). Sad when we find out too late. We were able to change his diet in time to make a difference & I had him from the time I was 5 years old until I was 22 (just before I got married). I always remembered that with the cats I had after I was married & it really made a difference..never had one vet problem with either of them.

I would also suggest not getting another kitty for awhile.....all need to grieve your loss now & give the love to the kitty that is missing him so much. Also, it will take awhile to recover financially. I have found that the vet bills are pretty high with having so many dogs.....there is always some emergency that needs a vet.

Many to help you through your missing Timmy

I just wanted to say I'm really sorry for your loss. A few years ago we had to put one of our cats to sleep because sometime during the night he had hurt his back and lost control of his bodily functions. Right now we have a 2 and 3 year old cat (the 2 year old has been like my shadow since birth!) and I couldn't imagine losing them.

Like Rainbowzz said; other pets in the house will grieve his loss as well. Thankfully with other animals the grieving period is mercifully much shorter then humans

Yeah, I've been giving my cat Jones (9 year old) much love, he seemed alot better since he's been played with almost 24-7.
I just hope that Timmy did not feel the heart attack when he was coming out of anastashia, because I love that cat so much and he does'nt deserve the pain.

Thanks for all the replies
