After owning horses for 37 years I am now HORSELESS. My boy left last night to his new home. I am not sure if I feel sad / relieved / angry as I have given up horses due to the horrible horse people I have encountered over the years. They robbed me of my passion / love of horses.

Black Moon; I'm sorry that you had to sell your horse. People in the horse community can really be a bunch of boneheads, but you may just need a break and that's okay.

Don't stress - you'll find the ONE soon. Holding thumbs - keep us in the loop!
You are doing a GREAT job keeping your head above water. And you know you can get by with limited touch to the equine community - just don't leave me out - lol!

I had to give up horses for medical reasons and I can't now for financial reasons. It has been devastating. I am trying to get back into it now by volunteering. Hopefully something will turn up soon.

There are some bad apples out there. I have come across them too. Don't let anyone take away something that is important to you; only you can give them that power. You'll find a way to reconnect with your passion and with people who value the same things you do. Hang in there.

Black Moon, I don't think we ever stop being horse people. We might go through periods of not owning one, but they never stop being part of us.

Please don't let the bad apples in the horse world ruin things for you. Yeah, there are some wicked people in the horse world - (personally I don't believe they are really horse people, they're just involved with horses) but true horse people can be the greatest folks around. Horse people are like any other group of people. There are some bad ones, some good ones and some great ones.

Just an update, as it seems BlackMoon hasn't been online for a while - holding thumbs, but with a bit of luck she is shortly going to be the new mom of an equine child!
Now, to just leave the bad apples behind and move forwards to being happy!
Congrats girl!
