Here's a picture of my old horse. I miss him so much. I bought him when I was 17, he was 6.
The first one is Sunny with a friend of mine who borrowed him for a competition:
Since we've been talking about horses....

And this one is me with him. Please excuse the picture quality, they're old.
Since we've been talking about horses....

He was the perfect horse, never bucked, never spooked, ever. Went on a 7 hour trail ride with him, he did awesome. He was a character though, liked to nibble on anything within reach. zippers, gloves, anything. Once he even ate his shot records. Some days he didn't feel like working, just like us. When I first bought him he would not gallop, no matter what. He knew absolutely nothing. I am proud to say that by the time I sold him he won every single competition I enrolled him in. I miss my Sunny.
Thanks for this!

He looks so cute and genuine, but you can see the naughty sparkle in his eye.
Yes, they have a way of creeping into our hearts and never leaving!

Thank you! I have no clue what breed he is/was. They had bought him originally as a school horse, but I fell in love with him and bought him. I think he's what we call a "lucky pasture accident". Meaning a nice mixed breed where noone knows what it is.

I was heartbroken when I had to sell him, but luckily a friend of mine bought him. I had to sell him when I moved out of my mom's house. I couldn't afford the boarding fees and vet fees and all that. The boarding fees were 500DM, as a Vet Tech apprentice I made 500DM a month, and my little bitty appartment was 700DM alone. (By law my mom and dad had to support me financially with a certain amount, that's what I lived on.) I don't think I'll ever find another horse like him.

sorry to hear. yes, they do stay in our hearts for ever, but I'm sure there will be another horse that you can forge a special bond with. When you are in a position to start looking again, just be patient and the right horse will find you.
Are you still riding at the moment?
The horse in my avatar is my current riding horse - My Fair Friend (Ozzie)- and the horse in my profile is Moscow Magic (Mozzie); my future riding horse, but still racehorse.
both are thoroughbreds, both racehorses
