I added some pics of Moscow Magic to an album. Not sure how to upload them into a thread, but have a look under my albums.
I've had him for about 6 weeks now and just love him!

Maybe this link...?

Thanks. This is one special horse. He really touches my soul and when I'm with him, I lose myself from reality and just get to BE. To live in the moment
These animals are really so powerful and an integral part of my healing and feeling whole. At least for me

I understand what you are saying. I rode for most of my life (English), so I understand how magical and healing horses can be. Horses are part of my visualization and safe places I go to when I can't handle life anymore. I gave up jumping due to the older I became the harder the ground felt when I fell, LOL, so took up learning dressage and the balanced seat. Back in the day (60's) when I did alot of pony shows and riding it was the forward seat.

Dapple Gray's are not so common anymore. When I visit an eventing or a show, I never see Dapple Grays. He's about 15 hands? How old is your horse? I would love to hear the story of the first day you bought this beauty and how you named him. Have you ever ridden in a hunt? shows?

The day I became disabled, I was standing in a stall writing a check for a mare, when I started to get sick and fell in the stall. The owner kept my check for a week and when I couldn't get out of bed, she sold the horse to someone else. This was to be my very first horse, a dream come true. I remember the euphoria I felt as I stood beside my first ever horse. I never realized my dream of owning a horse due to my disability.

I took a summer off from a stressful career back in the early 70's, and worked for a broodmare farm. I had 11 mares, lots of foals and one stallion in my charge. I remember, at the end of the day, I would stand and look around in the barn and see everyone standing in fresh sawdust, munching away on their evening meal, seeing the isle raked and dusted down, hearing the noises in the barn and my world was well. Nothing since then has equated to these feelings. Only a horse lover would understand all this.

I have been selling off alot of my things on ebay this week and I came across my half-chaps, hat, pants and paddock boots................. I think I will hold onto these for awhile longer. I still have my wedding dress............ silly the things we hold onto. hahahahah

Thanks for sharing that lovely picture!
Moscow Magic is at least 16.1hh, lol. And he rides more like a warmblood than a thoroughbred.
My boyfriend bought him as a yearling; I think it was 2006. He had his name already, and I guess he gets it from his sire (Russian Revival). My boyfriend raced him in partnership, and about 2 years ago he injured his tendon. Most partners pulled out, but one partner gave me his shares. We sent him to a farm to get better, and he came back into racing in the latter part of 2010. The trainer was worried he may break down, so we retired him in April. I've always loved him and knew he'd be my special one.
There aren't many greys around, yet I've landed up with 2! One dappled and one steel.
A few years ago I used to actively compete in show-jumping (just low grades) with the ocassional eventing or dressage. I mainly enjoy reschooling the TBs.
I'd love to work on a stud, and was also recently offered a position as assistant racetrainer, but didn't take it up. We are too good friends, that I really didn't want to end a friendship should there be a work dispute.
Well, that's me and horses in a nutshell, lol

Amazing story about your baby !!! Very heartwarming story. Is he getting injections of Bute in his tendon? I, too, loved to rehab horses. In fact, when I was buying the mare, I had a deposit on a farm and was going to do horse rescue. I had everything set up and lost it all with this disability.

I haven't heard of a gray steel before.

I was close on the number of hands, lol.

Glad to have met a fellow horse lover
