My dog Jack went to the groomer's today. I had him 'shaved down' for the summer. He looks so different without hair! Well without sooooo much hair.

I can see why the vet thinks he may have some grayhound greyhound??? in him. The second layer of hair/fur is mostly gray, with brindle tones. His tail is still fairly long as is the hair on his face area. Mostly he is an Australian Sheppard mix... He is so darn cute.

Wonder what the hubby is going to say when we go pick him up from work in about 15 minutes.
Thanks for this!

How did Jack react to the summer cut and what did hubby say when he saw Jack?

The one year I had my bouncing springer buzzed, all but her ears and tail and she came out of the groomer, head and tail drooping. She stayed droopy for days afterward, slinking around the house. She never minded a trim but hated to be shaved, would always get this reaction no matter what groomer went to or even if I did it. The other dog at the time, the setter, loved this cut and would come out bouncing. It's curious how they react sometimes.

Jack hasn't really reacted to the new look. Though I think he knows he is different. Don't know what it is in his behavior, but I just think he KNOWS!.

the hubster laughted at him and then Jack wouldn't get out of the back seat of the car so he and 2 of his co-workers could get a real look at him I was the one he got out for. But he would not do it for his daddy. I'm thinking it was because he was being laughed at!

He still likes his walks and his ears scratched, and to put his paw on you when he wants your attention. I love no hair floating in the house. His neck got so small that his daddy had to tighten his collar.

Whenever I look at him - it is still hard to see him with such a large head now. His head always looked out of proportion to his body by looking too small. He had a lot of fluffy think wonderful fur! Now he looks like a long bodied skinny drowned rat! But his is cute. His pink skin shows up from where he has white spots and his feet and neck and chest.

There is, believe it or not, a dog in our neighborhood named Fleetwood Cadillac. Fleetwood got shaved a few weeks ago and now behaves like he thinks he is the world's most handsome dog. Ordinarily he is a meek, quiet, somewhat stand-offish dog but shaved a whole new personality emerges.

Queen of c...that is a great story. Some times when I get a new look, I feel that way too, so I relate!
