I have a 6yr old pit named Jake and a 4yr old cat named Sissy. They love each other like family. She lays on him, lick his face. She'll rub up against him and purr. Hey, they grew up together.
Here's the funny thing: Every time I bathe Jake, she growls, hisses and fights him with her hair standing straigt up. She'll do this for hours. She'll hide from him. It's sooo funny. Why in the world does she do this?? Because I washed HER smell off him?? That's the only thing I can come up with. Any ideas?

maybe it is the attention thing?? my yorkie, shadow is funny in a lot of ways. when i pull foil off the roll, she runs across the room. any thing that moves is alive to her.. she barks when hearing someone or something outside, and she is tiny , runs to me to protect her, while barking like "big dog"...

My guess would be that either Jake doesn't smell like Jake anymore or she doesn't like the smell of the shampoo you are usig.

Every time I take a bath (the more bubble bath, bath oils, girlie soap.... the worse) when I get out my cat DC has to lick my entire hand before I can pet him. Maybe they just don't like our preferred smells!
