Hello. After the break up of my very loving 9 year relationship I am staying at my parents house.. I am house hunting just now for a place of my own for the first time ever! Im feeling very depressed and lonely and have been thinking about getting a pet for company in my new place. Partner got the 5 tropical fish tanks in the separation!! I think I am out the house too much for a dog. Iv been thinking about getting a cat!! I'd love a cat. Probably not a kitten...
Not sure tbh.. Any advise for someone thinking about a cat?
Thnx.. Xkim

Sorry for what youre going through. Adopting an adult cat from a local shelter would be great. You'll find many well adjusted, affectionate ones to choose from.

If you'll be renting, though, having a dog or cat may seriously limit your options.
